“A firm without Management is like a ship without it’s sail”. We all familiar with the keepers of management? May be no! Do we know who the keepers of management are? No not actually!

Project management is the application of processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to achieve the project objectives.

The Keepers can be denoted as the project managers. Now the questions arises that, what actually is Project Management? So, simply Project Management is the process of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time.

A project can be said  as a temporary endeavor designed to produce a unique product or result with a defined dead line. Project Management deals with some distinct production approaches which require technically trained staff with new management strategies.

Project Management face problems regarding achieving the project goals within the given constraints. The constraints can be scope, optimum utilization of useful inputs and procurement of inputs.

As we all are now through with the concept of Project Management? The Project managers! Who are they and what are their jobs? A project Manager is a person who has the responsibility or say an obligation to deliver the project from the project board to run that piece of project on routine basis.

A Project Manager is liable to lead and manage the project team with his mental alertness and readiness. He is liable with the important role of interfacing between the project and business area.

All the roles have a different importance not only for the completion of the project or working area but also for the communication, analyzing the need for transformation and change within the business area in tandem with the delivery or exposure of new capabilities from the project.

A Project Manager should be mentally alert just to compare the dynamic nature of business to exploit the new capabilities which is crucial to success.

Without the alertness there arises the problem of disruption and delay in the execution of the plans for the benefits realizations. He also needs to scan the dynamic environment to get the better opportunities for the development of contingency plans.

The wide topic of Project Management do not end here it include much more important stuff which we never thought of. Every part of Management needs a system hence the field of Project Management as well needs a system which we popularly  called as “The Project Development stages”.

The Project Management includes a number of elements. The major process groups are generally INITIATING, PLANNING, PRODUCTION or EXECUTION, !MONITORING or CONTROLLING and CLOSING. Do we all aware of these stages? Probably not! so let us discuss about these stages. As the name suggests that initiating is the primary stage which determines the nature and scope of the Project. If this stage is not performed well it is unlikely that the project will be successful in meeting the business needs.

After the initiation stage the Project is planned to an appropriate level of details, adequately to estimate the work needed and to effectively manage risk during project Execution. The Execution phase ensures that the Project Management plan’s deliverable are executed accordingly, it also  include project documentation which is helpful is observing the plan whether the project’s requirements are met or not.

The next phase is Controlling, it consist the process initiated to scan the project nod find out the problems and taking corrective actions.
